Eran Weaver: Preserving Community

Eran Weaver, Weaver, Bennett & BlandCommunity has been an integral part of law firm Weaver, Bennett & Bland since its founding thirty-five years ago. While not the original Weaver (it was his dad), Eran Weaver is now co-owner and president of the firm, which practices business law, civil litigation, divorce, family law, adoptions, domestic law, estate planning, estate administration, elder law, special needs planning, and personal injury.

Each of the firm’s attorneys is active in local civic, business, and nonprofit organizations that support the area’s quality of life. Eran in particular is involved with the Kiwanis Club of Matthews, the Matthews Chamber of Commerce, and the Red Brick Partnership, an organization devoted to promoting and enhancing downtown Matthews while also preserving its history. With headquarter offices in the oldest standing mercantile building in downtown, the firm is an active participant in that preservation.

“Matthews is a great town,” Eran said. “You get the best of Charlotte without actually having to live there. And the people and businesses are tremendous. It’s a caring community while also being business-oriented. Through the chamber of commerce, I’ve had an opportunity to get to know other business owners who have become friends.”

A few of Eran’s favorite spots in town include Stumptown Park, where his family has enjoyed Saturday night movies, and the Sportsplex. Eran thinks downtown Matthews needs a destination spot—something beyond what other areas offer. He noted that other towns have opened breweries that put them on the map. While a brewery isn’t necessarily that “something,” he likes the idea of giving residents a centralized entertainment venue. All you entrepreneurs out there, put your thinking caps on!
